About The Position

The Parts Phone Room Sales person will assist in making the Parts Department a profitable center by focusing on providing excellent customer service using established customer sales standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills required

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in the heavy-duty truck industry preferred
  • Prior call room experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Determine replacement part required by customer request or customer description of malfunction
  • Inform customer on substitution or modification of part when identical replacement is not available
  • Fill parts orders received by telephone
  • Utilize computer or catalog to determine part stock number and price
  • Receive and fill telephone orders for parts
  • Prepare wreck estimates and fax to customer
  • Keep work area neat and organized
  • Complete training requirements for the parts department
  • Attend scheduled parts meetings
