The Mercedes-Benz Manhattan's Parts Manager must be responsible for a profitable and efficient overall Parts Department. Parts Manager must achieve parts business objectives through proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, appropriate staff utilization, precise team direction, excellent customer service and support, outstanding teamwork, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying and advertising.

  • Consistently provide outstanding brand and customer experience throughout the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Provide required reporting for executive management analysis for parts sales, gross expenses and inventory on a monthly basis to main profit goals.
  • Maximize gross profit by effective ordering of parts to insure maximum parts return allowance.
  • Maintain a healthy parts inventory to avoid obsolescence and increase turnover.
  • Understand the current parts pricing, availability, shipping, return and credit policies of both MBM and MBUSA.
  • Prepare and assist with daily stock order placement.
  • Develop and guide supervisors to manage their teams efficiently and professionally.
  • Manage various operations of running a successful Parts Department efficiently including cultivating new wholesale accounts, retail display, inventory management and merchandising.
  • Manage open invoices to assure timely closing/payment.
  • Oversee accounts receiving aging and assist in accounts receivable collections.
  • Manage the process of filling all pre-paid items in DMS.
  • Develop systems or strategy to encourage purchasing from internal/external customers.
  • Cultivate continuous process improvements in parts business operations.
  • Monitor department housekeeping, maintenance and safety.
  • Supervise annual parts inventory activity.
  • Develop procedures for theft control.
  • Partner with Accounting and Finance on parts reconciliation and best practices.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with Fixed Ops Manager on important parts business matters.
  • Designated Dangerous Goods Coordinator for MB Manhattan.
  • Appropriately handle customer satisfaction issues in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a well-organized, clean and safe work area.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy team oriented environment which at times can be stressful.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail, sense of urgency and results driven.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' previous parts administration experience.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays, if necessary.
  • Be able to withstand physical demands of the job.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • General understanding of automotive industry/wholesale/retail processes.
  • Strong parts technical knowledge and expertise, particularly Mercedes-Benz.
  • Strong experience with DMS applications and business software.
  • Strong knowledge of parts inventory management processes.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards.
  • Ability to commute into and out of Manhattan/New York City on a daily basis and North Bergen, NJ when necessary.
  • The pay range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000.
  • This position is heavily commissioned.
