About The Position

The Parts Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising the parts department functions for Life Flight Network; in compliance with mandated requirements for parts storage and control. The Parts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the parts departments across the company. The job duties include inventory control, physical security, warranty claims, cores and the shipping and receiving of aircraft articles. In addition, the Parts Manager will work very closely with the Director of Supply Chain to develop and implement companywide strategies for the standardization of parts requisition, storage and consumption. This person must be capable of working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and have the leadership skills to develop and train employees as well as implement new systems across the company. This position works closely with mechanics, numerous vendors, customers and various levels of management. The position will be required to drive personal or company vehicles whenever and wherever business needs necessitate. Some regional travel will be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school degree or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing a team
  • Minimum 5 years’ of aircraft parts experience preferred
  • Aviation purchasing experience preferred
  • Experience with ERP systems, Ramco is preferred
  • Experience in leading teams, developing and mentoring staff. Ability to effectively manage a team in high level execution of tasks and responsibilities
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis in Word and Excel (graphs, vlookup, pivot tables)
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks by levels of importance and urgency
  • Strong focus on customer service, supporting the Life Flight Network maintenance department in all aspects of parts supply
  • Ability to collaborate with Director of Supply Chain to develop and execute companywide strategies and initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively recommend, plan, and execute initiatives. Leadership of parts inventory staff, with strong values, leading by example
  • Shipping and receiving experience
  • Inventory stocking/tracking experience
  • Administration of warranty parts, cores, other administrative tasks
  • Regular attendance and punctuality is required
  • Occasionally required to work after hours, weekends and some company holidays; may be required to be on call due to business needs.
  • Ability to travel by personal vehicle to meeting locations, including occasional travel to other locations
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to an automobile in good repair. Must provide proof of auto insurance. Mileage and travel expenses are reimbursed per Life Flight Network policy.

Responsibilities

  • Daily control of parts inventory to include the receiving and issuing of aircraft articles
  • Monitor minimum inventory levels
  • Ensure all required materials/parts for AOG aircraft at headquarters arrive when needed
  • Identify and implement use of alternate vendors for component repair/overhaul
  • Oversee warranty processes
  • Prepare instructions regarding inventory systems and procedures
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy
  • Develop and install clerical and office procedures and practices, and study work flow, sequence of operations, and office arrangement to determine expediency of installing new or improved office practices
  • Ensure requested products are purchased and or changed to conform to accurate specifications
  • Ensure that all processes follow LFN general maintenance policies
  • Maintains audit readiness
  • Supervise the Shipping and Receiving Specialist
