Requirements

  • Pre-employment screenings including background and drug test
  • Minimum 3+ years managing 5-10 people
  • Availability to work weekends as needed
  • Microsoft Suite proficient

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, supervise, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all parts department staff.
  • Provide technical training and direction to parts department employees, including the current dealer management system.
  • Monitor parts department employees' payroll records.
  • Enforce safety requirements, including but not limited to forklift training and operation, processing of MSDS sheets on all products carried, and OSHA Right-to-Know.
  • Conduct weekly department meetings.
  • Maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, body shop, wholesale accounts, and the do-it-yourself public.
  • Oversee perpetual inventory counts to ensure that stock inventory is up to date.
  • Establish individual parts inventory levels and balance them for maximum turnover.
  • Ensure that parts inventory turns 4 times per year.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence.
  • Organize and secure the Parts Department so parts are easily identifiable and accessible, including warranty and special-order parts.
  • Oversee stock order procedures and supervise parts department staff to ensure that all parts are properly tagged for the dealership to recover full credit from the factory.
  • Set and enforce a policy on the special ordering of parts.
  • Ensure parts are installed into the proper coach within 60 days.
  • Analyze sales, expenses, and inventory, monthly to maintain profit goals.
  • Ensure that the same high-quality level of service provided to outside customers is also provided to internal dealership customers, including communicating delays and progress of special part orders.
  • Work with the service manager and body shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
  • Analyze departmental operations and storage layout and revise as needed for maximum effectiveness.
  • Coordinate a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork.
  • Direct shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing.
  • Develop, enforce, and monitor guidelines for working with customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Solve customer complaints immediately with professionalism, and according to the dealership's guidelines.
  • Supervise that all dealership purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made.
  • Develop and utilize a lost sales tracking report and oversee the collection of past-due accounts.
  • Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that may affect parts sales.
  • Supervise custodians to ensure that work area is kept clean and maintain professional appearance of the Parts Department.
  • Return phone calls, emails, and texts promptly.
