About The Position

Urschel, a 100% employee-owned company, designs and manufactures industrial cutting equipment for food processing and allied industries around the world from its global headquarters in Chesterton, Indiana, U.S.A. The company utilizes advanced manufacturing technologies in a climate-controlled, clean, and environmentally conscious facility. This opening is for a full-time Parts Handler for the 2nd shift operations, working Monday-Thursday, with potential for Friday work based on workloads.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to three months related experience
• Ability to continuously walk within a 10–12-hour period
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Works independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to push carts and use hand trucks
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Working closely with shop employees to deliver fixtures, PPE, abrasives, and other inventoried items from the tool crib to the employee’s location
• Transporting parts from one operation to another
• Refilling oil and coolant containers for machining areas
• Stocking shelves in warehouse areas and entering locations for stock items
