About The Position

The Heavy Duty Truck Parts Counterperson position assists customers, in person and on the phone, with their purchasing of truck parts and components. This is done by researching customer needs, communicating pricing and availability, making recommendations for alternative products, creating invoices, and retrieving/sourcing products to fill the customer’s order. A Day in the Life May Include: • Provides exceptional customer service to customers, including greeting and thanking them for their business. • Handle parts requirements of customers through counter service and sales. • Use computer or other company resources to research part details and prices. • Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available. • Problem-solving with a positive attitude. • Fill orders from stock as well as procure parts necessary to fill customer needs. • Be able to place orders to suppliers to fill customers’ needs. • Accurately process invoices. • Assists in maintaining inventory control. • Assist in keeping the Parts area clean, orderly, and stocked. • Supply service technicians with parts using proper procedures. • Use telephone to assist customers placing phone-in orders.

Requirements

  • Work shifts may vary. Applicant must be able to work days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Positive attitude required.
  • Four to five years of heavy-duty OEM (DTNA, Paccar, Volvo/Mack, Navistar, etc.) experience performing similar job functions is required. A combination of varying experiences may be considered to meet this qualification.
  • High School diploma and/or 2-year degree from an accredited institution.
