About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Parts Crib Attendant to join our Operations team in Columbus, GA. The Parts Crib Attendant will play a vital role in managing the inventory of parts and supplies essential for the maintenance and production processes within our aerospace manufacturing facility. This position requires a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is a second shift position: Monday- Thursday 4x10 schedule. The shift starts in the late afternoon, and ends after midnight the following calendar day.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years or more industrial maintenance working directly with machines (doing both electrical and mechanical).
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management:
  • Receive, inspect, and store incoming parts and supplies in the parts crib, ensuring that all items are accurately logged and accounted for.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, usage rates, and reorder points to ensure timely replenishment of parts.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and ensure the integrity of inventory data.
  • Parts Distribution:
  • Issue parts and supplies to maintenance teams based on requests and established procedures.
  • Ensure that all issued parts are properly documented and tracked in the inventory management system.
  • Assist in the identification of obsolete or slow-moving inventory and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Organization and Cleanliness:
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe parts crib environment, adhering to company safety standards and regulations.
  • Implement best practices for parts storage and organization to facilitate easy access and retrieval of items.
  • Regularly clean and maintain shelving, bins, and work areas to promote a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to understand their parts and supply needs and address any urgent requests.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding inventory issues, shortages, and supply chain concerns.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met promptly and accurately.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within the parts crib operations to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to develop skills related to inventory management and parts handling.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in inventory management to contribute to team goals.
