About The Position

Fairfield Chevrolet Cadillac is a "Mark of Excellence" award winning dealership, where we treat customers like family. Currently seeking a Parts Counter Person, responsible for customer service and retail sales in our parts department. In this position, your responsibilities include selling parts, ordering inventory, stocking in inventory, as well as filling orders and keeping accurate records. You will work closely with our service writers, the technicians, along with our customers. A great personality, and the desire to help co-workers and customers is what we are looking for, experience in a dealership parts department would be helpful but not a requirement. Requirements

  • Ability to identify the problem quickly
  • Knowledge of automobiles and systems
  • Effective analytical and communication skills
  • Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, and work on your feet for periods of time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive, friendly attitude
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented, have a professional appearance and strong work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience at a Chevrolet dealership is a plus
  • Experience with auto parts sales (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
  • Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock
  • Complete special order part request for customers
  • Communicate with customers and other dealership departments on parts status
  • Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Preform stock checks
  • Log lost sales
  • Stage parts orders and returns
  • Work with parts manager to address order and stock issues
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations applicable to industry
