About The Position

As a Parts Counterperson at our dealership, you will be the primary point of contact for customers seeking automotive parts and accessories. You will provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with identifying and selecting the right parts for their vehicles, processing orders, and ensuring timely delivery. Your knowledge of automotive parts and accessories, along with your strong communication skills, will contribute to the overall success of our parts department and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their parts inquiries and purchases.
  • Listen attentively to customers' needs and provide knowledgeable guidance and recommendations.
  • Identify and locate the correct parts for customers' vehicles using dealership catalogs, parts manuals, and computer systems.
  • Provide accurate information about part specifications, pricing, availability, and compatibility.
  • Process parts orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all required information is entered correctly into the dealership's computer system.
  • Verify inventory availability and inform customers of any backorders or delays.
  • Coordinate with the parts shipping/receiving department to fulfill customer orders and arrange for pickup or delivery.
  • Promote additional parts, accessories, and related products to customers based on their needs and preferences.
  • Upsell warranty packages, service contracts, or other dealership offerings to enhance customer value and satisfaction.
  • Provide information about current promotions, discounts, and special offers to encourage additional sales.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with regular stock checks and inventory counts.
  • Replenish stock shelves and displays as needed to maintain a clean and organized parts department.
  • Assist with identifying slow-moving or obsolete parts and recommending actions to reduce inventory holding costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts transactions, including sales orders, invoices, and customer information.
  • Process returns, exchanges, and warranty claims according to dealership policies and procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the parts department and customer service area.
