Billion Auto of Sioux Falls is currently hiring for the position of Parts Counter Associate. This role involves assisting customers in selecting the required automotive parts in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring high levels of service to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license & acceptable driving record required.
  • Customer service experience required (not necessarily in auto parts).
  • Demonstrate a positive and helpful attitude while assisting customers.
  • Requires a working knowledge of automotive systems and replacement parts sales.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials, ensuring exposure to the full product line.
  • Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Review body shop estimates to ensure correct parts ordering and pricing alignment with estimates.
  • Provide high level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock.
  • Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials needing immediate attention.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders if necessary.
  • Notify service advisor and customer when special ordered parts have been received.
  • Notify body shop when all parts have arrived and when they will be delivered.
  • Pull orders for delivery to body shop, ensuring all parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
  • Follow up on back-ordered parts.
  • Replenish assigned inventory daily.
  • Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Participate with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
