About The Position

Darigold is seeking a motivated Parts Clerk to join the team at our Portland Plant. This position will support Plant Maintenance staff with a focus on CMMS systems, PDMS and parts inventory management. This position also heavily contributes to workforce productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through effective and efficient coordination of parts and materials. This is a full time hourly position. Responsibilities

  • Daily matching of incoming parts against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Record shortages and rejects of damaged goods.
  • Put inventory parts away as well as parts ordered for work orders in pre-kits on the work order shelf before going home every day.
  • Send all matched documents to Accounting before going home every day.
  • Notify Engineers and Planner that their parts ordered for work orders have arrived within 48 hours of arrival.
  • Pre-kit inventory parts for planned work provided by Planner/Scheduler.
  • Pull inventory parts “planned” on work orders, perform inventory transactions in EAM and inform Planner/Scheduler once the kit is completed.
  • Attend the weekly planning meeting to gain knowledge of upcoming work and parts needs.
  • Prepare material returns and packages for shipment on an as needed basis within 48 hours of receiving the items to be shipped.
  • Maintain a Material Return log that tracks the date, material return # if provided, item shipped, company it was shipped to as well as work order and PO# when available. This includes all items returned for any reason, parts sent out for repair, etc.
  • Maintain organization and housekeeping in Parts rooms, based on 5S principals, with the help of the engineers.
  • Ensure all parts are tagged and stored properly in storerooms withing 24 hours of being received.
  • Follow PDMS procedures to ensure timely communication of parts received, system integrity, accurate data input.
  • Develop a schedule to ensure a full quarterly cycle count of all critical spares and an annual cycle count of all other inventoried parts are completed.
  • Identify and make inventory adjustments, as required.
  • Operate forklift and maintain a forklift license as needed for loading and loading purposes.
  • Assist in problem solving parts issues and outages with knowledge of storeroom parts.
  • Participate in Maintenance 5s team and activities.
  • Identify trends in inventory and make improvement recommendations related to suppliers, reorder points, min & max, etc.
  • Work with Engineering team to develop a list of critical items that we cannot be without and monitor that list on a weekly basis.
  • Add all new parts to current CMMS system, assign a location, label and put away in a timely manner.
  • Develop and label one location for NBL’s and communicate it to the team. All NBL’s need to be stored here for access until they are given a permanent location in a parts room. NBL’s need to be processed as soon as possible.
  • Partner with Engineers and Planner/Scheduler to develop and maintain a pre-kit location in the receiving area, clearly labeled by department.
  • Remove obsolete and outdated parts from storeroom and update EAM.
  • Comply with national, state, and local safety codes, OSHA regulations, fire codes, company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
