About The Position

The Parts Clerk position at the Illinois Tollway is responsible for managing inventory and providing support to staff by ensuring the availability of necessary parts and supplies. This role involves close collaboration with the Central Warehouse Staff and the Section Clerk, as well as maintaining accurate records and data input into various management systems. The position is crucial for the smooth operation of the Central Shop, especially during the snow and ice season when on-call duties are required.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform cycle counts and audits of inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory under control and ensure accurate monitoring.
  • Perform cycle counts and audits of inventory and supplies.
  • Input data into various computer management systems.
  • File hard copy reports and work orders.
  • Issue required parts and supplies to authorized personnel.
  • Input all issued parts and supplies to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Input all SROs for the Central Shop.
  • Store parts and materials in a clean, neat, safe, and orderly manner.
  • Ensure accuracy of deliveries from all other locations.
  • Maintain inventory levels consistent with demand and established policy.
  • Familiarize with SunSystem procedures and data input.
  • Prepare forms for shipping equipment to outside vendors for repair or service.
  • Perform typing and clerical duties such as filing, record keeping, and answering phones.
  • Cross-train with Section Clerk to understand timekeeping for Garage personnel.
  • Assist Central Warehouse with specifications for required parts or supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle or equipment inventory using various Tollway Systems.
  • Track all orders for materials and supplies under control.
  • Follow procedures for ordering and maintaining inventory.
  • Follow fuel system procedures and maintain Fire Marshall's fuel log.
  • Perform duties of Section Clerk in their absence.
