About The Position

The Parts Associate – Material Handling (Forklift) serves an essential function between Technicians and parts suppliers, researching and ordering parts while maintaining optimal inventory levels. In this role, you are responsible for delivering outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers, ensuring smooth counter operations. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under pressure is a must. In this role you will collaborate effectively with Customers, Technicians, Dispatchers, and Service Managers, while also demonstrating the capability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, technology driven, service environment.
  • Proven organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Basic knowledge of mathematical skills or accounting processes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Products: Outlook; Excel; and Word.
  • Able to work without supervision. Occasionally, will work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with diverse needs and across remote offices.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Inventory Control processes is preferred.
  • Experience with forklift parts, overhead commercial doors, loading dock levelers and other related warehouse equipment is a plus.
  • Experience in a customer service environment. At least 2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with technicians to ensure accurate ordering of parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret parts diagrams.
  • Ability to identify, source and order parts for forklifts and various miscellaneous warehouse equipment.
  • Ensure accurate pricing for parts and supplies on purchase orders, work orders and quotes.
  • Order parts from vendors via email, phone, and web-portals.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding parts ETA and delays.
  • Pull orders, place stock orders, and maintain appropriate inventory levels, prioritizing customer demands.
  • Return incorrect parts to vendors promptly.
  • Professionally resolve customer complaints.
  • Update electronic parts records and inventory counts in the computerized system.
  • Handle email, phone inquiries, and assist walk-in customers.
  • Follow company and OSHA safety rules and guidelines. Avoid injuries and damage to property, loss of unused materials and clean-up of work area debris and complete all necessary company training in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
