Our Volvo dealership in Thousand Oaks is seeking a Parts Associate. This is a great opportunity to begin your automotive career. In this position, you will contribute to the success of Rusnak Auto Group by supporting the efforts of the Parts Department staff through proper storage procedures and maintaining Client satisfaction by accurate order picking and driver assignment.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2+ years in position of related or similar positions progressively in automotive, Retail, Sales, Hospitality or Food & Beverage industries.
  • Current California Driver License with satisfactory Department of Motor Vehicle driving record.
  • High School Diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and efficiently manage the company's parts inventory.
  • Promptly notify parts management of out of stock items, discrepancies, and shop materials/equipment in need of attention.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders as required.
  • Notify the Service Consultant/Advisor and the Client when special ordered parts have been received.
  • Notify the body shop when all parts have arrived along with an estimated time of delivery.
  • Pull orders for delivery to the body shop and ensure all parts are tagged with Client name and job number.
  • Track and follow up on back-order parts.
  • Verify will-call, back-order files, and returns to vendors on a weekly basis.
  • Return items not picked up or no longer required to inventory.
  • Issue credit for parts returned while ensuring that the original invoice or its number is available.
  • Assist with regular parts inventories and selection of parts for returns.
  • Develop and maintain the most effective physical storage layout.
  • Maintain department security.
  • Assign parts upon arrival and input exchange parts orders on DealerConnect.
  • Return exchange cores and input Dealer Connect Material Return Authorization (MRA) shortage/damage claims.
  • Issue shop tools to Technicians and track their return.
  • Maintain clear and precise record keeping for all RO's, invoices, insurance estimates, and special orders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely receipt of freight and accurately place incoming stock in the proper locations.
  • File packing slips in numerical order.
  • Assist with all paperwork relating to damages/shortages and vendor returns.
  • Participate in perpetual counts, bin organization, and parts stocking.
  • Match purchase orders and invoices for Parts Manager to review and approve.
  • Attend training classes as directed by management.
