About The Position

Kendall Auto Group is one of the largest family owned and operated dealers in the Pacific Northwest and a premier employer in Alaska. We are looking for a Partsperson to join the team. At Kendall Auto of the Kenai Peninsula in Soldotna, our parts department is a fast-paced environment serving technicians within the dealership as well as clients throughout the community by selling OEM and aftermarket parts to our clients. The Partsperson is responsible for customer service and retail sales at our auto parts store. In this position, your responsibilities include selling parts and taking inventory of stock in storage and, if necessary, on shelves. This position is for the technician back counter with occasional fill in for the front counter. Requirements

  • A valid driver's license & good driving record
  • Knowledge of electronic parts catalogues
  • Effective analytical and communication skills
  • Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
  • Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Positive, friendly attitude
  • Detail-oriented, have a professional appearance and strong work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience at any new car dealership is a plus
  • Experience with manufacture specific catalogues is preferred
  • Ability to identify the problem quickly, working in a fast paced environment
  • Minimum of 1 year in parts department is a plus
  • Experience with working on PC's all day
  • Experience with auto parts sales preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
  • Work with parts manager to locate any parts not in stock
  • Complete special order part request for the customer
  • Communicate with customer on parts status
  • Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations applicable to industry
