About The Position

The Partnership Manager, Tax is responsible for providing tax and consulting services to our Pass-Through clients. This role involves performing tax planning, preparation, and research for Pass-Through businesses, managing client engagements, supervising and reviewing the work of team staff members, and working closely with clients as well as internal managers and partners. The position also requires the write-up of books and records for the business and composing written tax advice or responses to IRS inquiries. The Partnership Manager contributes to client satisfaction by providing timely services and work products, demonstrating an understanding of tax concepts, and actively pursuing increased tax knowledge through client assignments and current tax developments. Additionally, the role includes ensuring compliance with applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens, conducting top-level reviews of tax returns, and managing client relationships and expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other relevant field, required.
  • Five (5) plus years of public accounting experience in the private client area, required.
  • CPA certification, required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detailed oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Taxation, preferred.
  • Experience with subchapter K of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 as amended.
  • Working knowledge of Targeted Capital Account Agreements.
  • Knowledge of optional basis adjustments under sections 734 & 743.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tax planning, preparation, and research for Pass-Through business.
  • Manages client engagements and supervises the work of team staff members.
  • Writes up books and records for the business and composes written tax advice or responses to IRS inquiries.
  • Ensures clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens.
  • Conducts top-level review of tax returns and resolves all tax issues with clients.
  • Plans and reviews the tax process, including budgeting and staffing.
  • Monitors engagement processes and actual time incurred versus budget.
  • Manages timely billing and collection of accounts receivable.
  • Provides timely advice to clients and manages client relationships.
  • Identifies when research is needed and reports the analysis clearly.
  • Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to benefit clients and the Firm.
  • Supervises associates and senior associates on all projects and provides performance feedback.
