Utilizing innovative methods to identify patients who may benefit from treatment, we must take a highly strategic approach to patient access while assisting patients and their caregivers to navigate the healthcare system. The Opportunity: This field-based position provides reimbursement and educational assistance to patients and caregivers considering or undergoing therapy. Key responsibilities include building advocacy relationships, supporting the SMA community at events, and collaborating with patients, families, and physicians to address medication access barriers. As a PAL you will work with various internal teams to meet local territory needs and requires knowledge of pharmaceutical reimbursement. Key Responsibilities: You will provide education and ongoing support to patients and caregivers, including product information, dosing and administration, reimbursement services, and other needed education You will maintain regular contact with patients and respond to their specific requests You will assist patients with insurance options and resolve logistical challenges with insurance and pharmacies You will create awareness and educate through local advocacy and programming, including coordinating patient programs and education at conferences You will need to respond promptly to patient and caregiver questions and concerns, providing resources to resolve issues, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy policies This is a field-based role that will cover the MidWest. Candidates can live anywhere in the MidWest, including OH, MI, IN, IL, WI, MN, IA,KY, TN, TX, WI. Relocation Benefits are not available for this role Who you are: Bachelor’s Degree required Clinical experience with patients required 5+ years of field-based experience in patient services/reimbursement/pharmaceutical desired Experience directly supporting patients required Strong communication skills including public speaking and presentation experience Knowledge and adherence to HIPAA guidelines, FDA requirements, and internal Compliance guidelines Ability to effectively collaborate with case managers and account managers, handle difficult patient cases, and respond promptly to prevent treatment lapses Preferred Qualifications: Fluency in Spanish is preferred Registered Nurse preferred, not required Case management experience preferred Orphan or Rare disease experience preferred Account management/institutional experience preferred Overnight travel may be required. This position requires significant driving of either a company-provided or personal vehicle as well as prolonged periods of sitting, both of which are part of the essential duties and responsibilities of the role. This position will require approximately 30-50% travel, including some overnights and weekends. As a result, Genentech, Inc. (Company) from time to time will check your motor vehicle record for purposes of determining your eligibility for driving a Company vehicle or driving any vehicle on Company business. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location in the MidWest is $136,000-$253,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
