About The Position

Eli is a fast-growing, venture-backed software company working to make clean energy upgrades easier to deliver and easier to access. We build tools that help contractors apply for incentives, submit paperwork, and receive payment quickly. This allows them to focus on doing great work instead of dealing with bureaucracy. Our software supports upgrades such as heat pumps, EV chargers, insulation, solar, and battery storage. It helps move projects from idea to installation without unnecessary delays. We use software and automation wherever possible, but people remain essential. Contractors and homeowners often need clear explanations, reassurance, and real human support, especially when programs are confusing or time-sensitive. That is where this role comes in. You will work directly with contractors, helping them get started, answering questions, and ensuring applications are processed correctly and on time. You will play a hands-on role in helping clean energy projects happen in the real world. Job Details This role sits on Eli’s processing team, and combines detail-oriented operational work with a customer-facing focus. You’ll be the friendly, confident human who helps potential new contractors learn about Eli and get started on the platform, supports them once they’re live, and takes an active role in shaping and improving how we deliver customer success. You’ll also be a core member of our processing team, ensuring rebate and income verification applications are processed accurately and on time. If you’re a detail-oriented, people-focused problem solver, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • Customer-first mindset. You genuinely enjoy talking to customers, building rapport, and helping people feel supported.
  • Excellent written and oral communication. You’ll be making complex incentive programs approachable to both contractors and homeowners.
  • Comfort over the phone, video, and email. Onboarding calls, support conversations, and light sales discussions energize you rather than drain you.
  • Ownership mentality. Demonstrated ability to own problems from discovery to resolution. Passion for delivering high-quality user experiences.
  • Organizational skills. In a given day, you might touch 100 applications or more. Excellent attention to detail and an ability to craft and follow highly structured, technology-supported processes precisely and diligently are essential for this role.
  • Service orientation. Demonstrated dedication to making the lives of others easier.
  • Mission-driven. Enthusiasm for our mission to combat climate change and interest in the home electrification and decarbonization space.

Nice To Haves

  • Talking to customers every day and being the human face of a product people rely on.
  • Improving conversion and retention by helping customers feel confident and supported.
  • Taking ownership. We are a small team that takes pride in our work. You’ll have a handful of collaborators, but you should expect and look forward to handling some challenges without a lot of guidance.
  • Doing highly detail-oriented processing work where accuracy and follow-through really matter.
  • Learning. You’ll quickly know more of the fine points of how electrification incentives really work than nearly anyone in the country. We’re guessing that doesn’t describe you today, so you should be excited to learn!

Responsibilities

  • Run onboarding calls with new contractors as they sign on to Eli, helping them understand how our product works, what to expect, and how to be successful quickly. You’ll play a direct role in improving conversion from signup to active usage.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for contractors by email and phone once they’re using Eli, answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and helping them navigate incentive programs.
  • Proactively reach out to contractors during their early projects to ensure they’re having a positive experience and collect feedback to help improve Eli’s offerings.
  • Handle straightforward sales conversations with leads who are interested in Eli and need a few questions answered.
  • Process rebate and income verification applications, reviewing submissions for completeness and accuracy, following up on missing information, and submitting applications on behalf of contractors.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the incentive programs Eli supports, so you can confidently process applications and answer questions from contractors and households.
  • Maintain high quality and attention to detail across processing work, balancing customer-facing responsibilities with accurate execution behind the scenes.
  • Help shape the future of customer success and processing at Eli. As an early team member, you should identify opportunities for improvement, and collaborate with Eli’s product and processing teams to improve documentation, workflows, and tooling.
