About The Position

Sigma is a leading cloud analytics solution that empowers business teams to analyze data at scale without code. Internship Overview: Sigma is seeking motivated and enthusiastic students to join us as Partner Engineer Interns for the Summer of 2026. These students will intern directly with our Partnerships team and focus on partner engineering efforts. We are looking for two students for the summer 2026 program - one to focus on Partner Engineering and the other on Partner Engineering Operations. This 12-week internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in partner enablement, go-to-market strategy, and ecosystem collaboration. You will work directly with key internal teams and external partners, contributing to projects that have a direct impact on Sigma’s growth. This role supports the growth of our sales teams and combines both a technical and data driven approach.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university degree program in the U.S with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Able to intern from May / June 2026 through August / early September 2026
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the US during the Summer 2026 program
  • Applicants must be able to work in-person in our office in San Francisco, CA for the duration of their internship.
  • Current student pursuing a degree in Business Analytics, Informatics or Data Engineering. Preference for students graduating in 2027.
  • Strong communication, research, and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, prior experience in analytics engineering, BI development, data warehousing, or similar.
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams internally and externally
  • Problem solver with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Open to learning new tools and technologies
  • Interest in partnerships, business development, and the data analytics industry.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with SQL, python, cloud data warehouses, dbt or similar transformation frameworks
  • Hands on experience with data visualization or analytics tools such as Looker, Tableau, PowerBi, or similar
  • Able to commit 40 hrs a week for 12 weeks in-person in one of our office locations

  • Experience in business development or partnerships is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the current state of ISV partner integrations with a focus on AI related features.
  • Develop prototypes for possible new integrations.
  • Create and update documentation on partner integrations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the Partnerships, Enablement, Sales, and Product teams.
  • Develop Sigma workbooks using Sigma’s python, excel, and sql capabilities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Assist continual design and development of our external Sigma Partner Portal
  • Support partner operations by turning raw data into analytics-ready datasets
  • Create, maintain and analyze reports and workbooks to track KPIs and partner performance
  • Help ensure data quality by adding basic tests, validations, and checks
  • Assist cross-functional partner initiatives - design process, manage timelines, implementation and documentation
  • Support processes, enhancements, and reports for the Partner Team
  • Document current state and future state business and technical process around our partner ecosystem and proactively drive process and policy improvement
  • Go hands on with the key tools of the Modern Partner Ecosystem (e.g. Sigma, Snowflake, Crossbeam, Salesforce, Hubspot), helping to expose insights for the team
