About The Position

This is an opportunity for an early career candidate or recent college grad to step into the world of mortgage sales! This is not a commission only based sales position and offers someone the opportunity to learn the non QM industry without prior lending experience. This role was created to help someone to grow into a Mortgage Account Executive over time. The position is full time in office in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte. Deephaven Mortgage has been a pioneer and leader in non-QM since our origin in 2012. Our longevity and strength in the non-QM space has allowed a significant number of borrowers to achieve homeownership who otherwise would not have under traditional requirements. Deephaven champions mortgage borrowers whose independence, entrepreneurial drive and determination are often the very reason they cannot qualify for a traditional loan. We continuously and responsibly innovate new mortgage products and programs that put homeownership within reach of millions of borrowers and investors that need and deserve financing through lending ingenuity that is supported by common-sense underwriting. Deephaven is comprised of two lending platforms. Our wholesale channel offers loans through a network of over 1,000 independent mortgage brokers. Our correspondent channel buys loans from over 200 correspondent partners. Deephaven’s headquarters are in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Requirements

  • Recent College Graduate.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Innovative and resourceful, with the ability to thrive under pressure in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills.
  • Competent with spreadsheets, databases and presentation tools.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with brokers, loan officers, and other referral sources.
  • Handle daily inbound and outbound calls with confidence, screening inquiries to ensure they align with our loan product guidelines while delivering exceptional service.
  • Aim for 50+ outbound dials per day, leveraging client data and contact information to identify prospects that match Deephaven’s ideal client profile.
  • Collaborate with your manager to continuously refine call scripts and strategies, ensuring every conversation is impactful, engaging, and tailored for success.
  • Support originators in nurturing and strengthening broker and loan officer partnerships through various channels, including company leads and referrals.
  • Manage lead activities in Salesforce including prospecting, marketing and segmentation activities.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing teams to identify potential business sources.
  • Qualify potential borrowers or brokers and take loan applications, ensuring the client is successfully set up in our system with access to the technology platforms they need.
  • Work directly with potential borrowers to obtain initial documentation.
  • Maintain consistent and transparent dialogue with clients to keep them informed of status on submitted loans.
  • Develop strong partnerships with Processing, Underwriting, Closing, and Post Closing teams.
