About The Position

The Partner Data Scientist (PDS), Transparency – Governance & Oversight Board, is responsible for leading data-driven governance initiatives, supporting Oversight Board activities, and ensuring Meta’s external commitments are met through rigorous analytics, impact assessments, and process improvements. This role partners with Governance, Public Policy, Product, and external stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, validate the impact of recommendations, and proactively address regulatory and compliance risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience following the data development lifecycle to develop scalable data infrastructure and analytics tools
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with peers, stakeholders and collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies and time zones
  • Track record of operating independently and delivering results, embracing ambiguity, demonstrating creativity, being detail-oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized manner
  • Proven experience in communication and presentation skills, and the ability to clarify and summarize complex issues
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and/or data science toolkit for development and visualization (e.g. python/R, Tableau, Hive, MySQL, Spark, etc.)
  • Experience independently structuring and leading projects with cross-functional stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization
  • Experience independently managing multiple projects simultaneously and working autonomously in a deadline focused ambiguous environment
  • Experience in communicating effectively with experience of driving action based on data-driven insights. Experience turning vague concepts and asks into well-documented and effective business metrics and insights and storytelling through data insights
  • Project management experience, with experience leading and executing multiple time-sensitive projects with partners

Nice To Haves

  • BS, MS or MBA in a quantitative or policy/regulatory field preferred
  • Experience distilling/prioritizing needs of a broad range of stakeholders to inform an action plan
  • Experience working in policy, policy research, regulatory and compliance etc
  • Understanding of Account Management and research/analytics best practices
  • Strategy consulting experience (or equivalent experience in strategic and analytical problem-solving)

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and deliver custom Impact Assessments for the Oversight Board, providing data and analysis to validate the impact of Board recommendations and Meta’s implementation efforts
  • Develop and maintain processes for tracking, reporting, and sharing impact metrics with the Board, including both manual and self-serve analyses via Meta Content Library (MCL) and API
  • Proactively identify and address gaps in data availability, implementation tracking, and accountability for recommendations, ensuring commitments are upheld and communicated transparently
  • Support regulatory response efforts by ensuring data sharing, reporting, and impact measurement processes meet evolving legal and policy requirements (e.g., DSA 40B)
  • Run end-to-end dry runs and readiness assessments for regulatory requests, and develop mitigation strategies for ambiguous or high-risk compliance scenarios
  • Collaborate with Integrity, Policy, and Product teams to align on regulatory priorities and resource allocation
  • Host workshops, office hours, and educational sessions for researchers, Board members, and external partners to drive adoption and understanding of Meta’s transparency tools
  • Provide white-glove support for Oversight Board and governance stakeholders, including onboarding, troubleshooting, and feedback collection
  • Communicate findings, risks, and learnings to leadership and cross-functional teams, influencing strategy and resource allocation
