About The Position

We are recruiting on behalf of a respected insurance defense firm seeking an experienced Litigation Partner to help lead its New York general liability practice. This role is ideal for a senior attorney who brings deep expertise in general liability defense and enjoys operating at a strategic, leadership level. Rather than managing a heavy personal caseload, this Partner will focus on litigation strategy, client relationships, attorney development, and oversight of complex matters. This is a remote-first position with in-person New York court appearances as needed.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active admission to the New York Bar (in good standing)
7–10 years of litigation experience within insurance defense
Extensive experience in general liability defense
Prior experience working within an insurance defense law firm

Responsibilities

Provide strategic oversight and direction on general liability litigation matters
Act as a primary client and carrier contact on complex cases
Review pleadings, discovery strategy, motion practice, and trial preparation
Mentor and develop junior and senior attorneys through ongoing guidance
Ensure litigation standards and firm expectations are consistently met
Step into matters as needed to support quality and results
