About The Position

The Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Team Lead Counselor at Edgewood Center is a full-time position responsible for providing direct client services and care coordination for youth and families within the PHP/IOP program. This role emphasizes the implementation of treatment plans, supervision of clients, and collaboration with team members to ensure a safe and supportive environment for children receiving mental health care.

Requirements

  • Ability to physically hold and/or restrain children, following 'Handle with Care' principles.
  • Valid California Driver's License required.
  • Must apply for or possess a National Provider Identification (NPI) Number within one week of hire.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with team members and in supervision.
  • Work experience in a residential, school, daycare, or child-centered agency with a focus on children with special needs preferred.
  • Ability to develop and adapt to the diverse cultural backgrounds of clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team approach.
  • Independent thinking and informed decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Team Lead Counselor, implementing agency policies and treatment plans.
  • Implement individual client support plans.
  • Lead planning for daily shift tasks for PHP/IOP Counselors, including groups, activities, and intervention strategies.
  • Design and implement activities that align with program goals in collaboration with the Milieu Manager and other counselors.
  • Ensure completion of expected tasks by PHP/IOP Counselors and facilitate solutions to barriers.
  • Schedule and coordinate break schedules for PHP/IOP Counselors.
  • Provide for the physical safety and care of each child in care.
  • Record events and prepare documentation related to daily events, including logs and incident reports.
  • Meet daily documentation standards and EPSDT billing requirements.
  • Attend and participate in program team meetings and trainings.
  • Orient relief staff to client treatment plans and program expectations.
  • Coordinate with the cottage Milieu Manager to address cottage and programming needs.
  • Collaborate with other AIS Team Leads and support the AIS Residential Program.
  • Follow Handle with Care principles and teachings.
  • Safeguard the dignity and rights of each child in care and enhance their self-respect.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
