About The Position

Penn State Abington seeks to hire part-time Youth Program instructors for grades 3-12 from June 2026 through August 2026. Topics to be taught include STEM programming, arts, writing, leadership and soft skills, wellness, and others.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
  • Outgoing personality and ability to work well with children
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Self-starter attitude
  • Advanced degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution (required for most openings)
  • Prior teaching experience (strongly preferred)
  • Availability for daytime in-person programming from Monday through Thursday, June 22 through August 13, 2025, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Attendance at a one-day, in-person staff orientation at Penn State Abington, scheduled between June 15th and June 18th, prior to the start of the camp sessions

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating and implementing program curriculum and lessons
  • Manage supplies for the programs
  • Supervise minors participating in programs
  • Work collaboratively with the Youth Program Director, Student counselors, and Continuing Education staff
  • Attend team meetings as expected by Youth Program Director
