About The Position

Penn State Abington seeks to hire part-time Youth Program instructors for grades 3-12 from June 2026 through August 2026. Topics to be taught include STEM programming, arts, writing, leadership and soft skills, wellness, and others. Instructors are responsible for assisting with creating and implementing program curriculum and lessons, managing supplies, and the supervision of minors participating in programs. Instructors must work collaboratively with the Youth Program Director, Student counselors, and Continuing Education staff to create an inviting, enjoyable and educational environment for students. Attend team meetings as expected by Youth Program Director.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Outgoing personality and ability to work well with children.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Self-starter attitude.
• An advanced degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited institution is required for most openings.
• Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with creating and implementing program curriculum and lessons.
• Manage supplies for the programs.
• Supervise minors participating in programs.
