About The Position

Join our team in the Wood Shop as a Part-Time / Temporary Assembler on 2nd Shift! This position involves hands-on work in a dynamic and supportive environment. The schedule is Monday-Thursday, with 6 hours per day and a flexible start time between 3:00 PM and Midnight. The role includes assembling wooden or cardboard containers, inserting items into containers with care and accuracy, and nailing covers onto wooden crates while binding containers with metal tape. There is a $2 per hour shift differential pay for 2nd shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Willingness to successfully pass in-house forklift & overhead crane certification program

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wooden or cardboard containers, or select preassembled containers
  • Insert items into containers with care and accuracy
  • Nail covers onto wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape
  • Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments
  • Determine the method of shipment
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons
  • Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
  • Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications
  • Maintain the inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Operate tier lift truck or use hand-truck to move shipments
  • Study shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records
  • Inspect shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • Perform clerical tasks such as computer data entry and keeping files
  • Deliver incoming goods to respective departments
  • Work to sustain 5S
  • Support and uphold the quality and EHS policy
