About The Position

Indiana University East is seeking a part-time Women's Basketball Assistant Coach to support the athletic department by recruiting student-athletes, coaching during practices and games, and assisting with various administrative tasks related to the sport. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1 year of high school coaching experience in any sport required.
• American Heart Instructor Certification in CPR required.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University required.
• Strong commitment to the student-athlete concept and knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions required.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence required.
• Effective communication skills required.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public required.
• Basic mathematical skills required.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions required.
• Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations required.
• Ability to adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations of the University and athletic associations required.
• Ability to recruit, coach, and teach talented student-athletes required.
• Ability to pass a criminal history background check required.

Responsibilities

• Make contact with recruits and set up visits with them.
• Assist with recruit visits and provide supervision during practices and games.
• Actively recruit quality student-athletes for the assigned sport through various communication methods.
• Provide coaching and supervision assistance during practices and games, focusing on specific coaching areas or general oversight.
• Assist with another team's recruiting needs and supervision as requested by the Athletic Director or Assistant Athletic Director.
