About The Position

The Campus Recreation Welcome Desk Assistant is the first point of contact for Campus Recreation and Wellbeing Center patrons. These individuals oversee the daily operations and supervision of the Welcome Desk in the Wake Forest Wellbeing Center. In addition, the Welcome Desk Assistant is responsible for membership functions and services provided to the users of the Wellbeing Center.

Requirements

  • Must maintain a First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or be able to obtain it within a designated time.
  • Work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
  • Effectively communicate issues with shifts in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as demanded by the nature of the business, as shifts and schedules may vary throughout the year (i.e. summer and academic year breaks – spring, fall, winter, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment in the Wellbeing Center, including serving as the first point of contact for facility questions and membership needs.
  • Oversee operations of the Welcome Desk to ensure that Access Staff are completing their essential functions and duties, complete staff audits as needed.
  • Perform transactions and membership functions including membership sales, program registrations, informal recreation equipment checkout, locker rentals, facility access verification and retail sales; maintains confidentiality of member records and University financial information.
  • Operate Point-of-Sale system, cash register and credit card equipment. Total all sales and reconcile the cash drawer by reporting all receipts each shift.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting the retail inventory to ensure a sufficient supply of items are at the Welcome Desk.
  • Track and log Lost & Found Inventory of the Wellbeing Center.
  • Understand your role within the Facility and Emergency Action Procedures and be able to effectively complete any items related to them.
  • Effectively report issues, questions, comments, and concerns of the Wellbeing Center that arise by completing a shift log every shift, as well as reporting all staffing issues that arise (i.e. No Shows, Tardiness, Out of Uniforms, etc.).
  • Enforce the policies and procedures of the Wellbeing Center.
  • Assist with completion of clerical items as assigned as they relate to Facility Operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
