About The Position

Aborn Pet Hospital is growing! We just completed a full hospital renovation, with added exam rooms. We are currently looking to hire Part-Time Veterinary Assistants to join our team! Aborn Pet Hospital is a long-standing general practice hospital with deep ties to the community, located in Fremont, California. Our busy, four doctor practice sees a variety of pets from cats and dogs to small mammals and birds. We aim to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care. Requirements

  • 1 + year of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary assistant
  • Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Experience with proper animal handling and restraint of cats and dogs
  • Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting
  • Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
  • Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Collect laboratory samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders
  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures
  • Ensure a clean, safe and organized work environment
