About The Position

Mill Creek Animal Hospital, a CareVet partner, is seeking a dynamic part-time Veterinarian to be part of a collaborative and tenured team in Alpharetta, GA. Your Role as an Associate Veterinarian: This is the perfect opportunity for a Veterinarian to be part of a team working in a family-like atmosphere. As a part-time DVM, you will maintain schedule flexibility working 18 hours per week. Ideally, this candidate will have a desire to make a difference in a community whose mission is to consistently provide authentic care by compassionately serving as a unified team in harmony with our clients. About the hospital: Our team is committed to creating a warm, welcoming experience for both pets and their owners. We’re proud of the long-standing relationships we’ve built with our clients—many of whom feel like family. Our clients are dedicated to their pets and value the high standard of care we provide. Typical schedules for this position are either Monday/Wednesday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or Wednesday/Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Surgery is optional and available only if the veterinarian chooses to perform it. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
