Porters Neck Village is recruiting for a hospitality focused Utility Worker/Dishwasher to join our team! This position is responsible for a number of kitchen activities including pot washing, dish washing, general cleaning duties and storing food and non-food supplies in the Food and Beverage Department. The Utility Worker/Dishwasher position is responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times. This position pays $15/hr and the schedule consists of 10am-5pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday. Hours may vary depending on how busy the kitchen is toward closing time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand direction in English.
• Ability to walk/stand for 100% of the work day.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35lbs independently and push/pull carts and trays weighing up to 100lbs.
• Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify at all times Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization.
• Sets up the dish and pot washing area.
• Prepares for dish washing and washes pots, dishes and utensils.
• Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces and other areas of the kitchen including mopping and sweeping, according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
• Empties trash containers as required.
• Assist with meal deliveries and delivery process as needed.
• Works buffet line as needed.
• Trains in prep cook area as time allows.
• Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness, maintains orderly, safe, sanitary, and secure work area at all time and follows all established safety and quality control procedures.
