About The Position

The Trust and Safety Counselor at Health Advocate plays a vital role in supporting personnel by providing counseling and wellness programming. This part-time position focuses on establishing trusted relationships through one-on-one and group sessions, helping employees manage the emotional impact of their work, particularly in evaluating user-generated content. The counselor will also lead wellness initiatives and provide crisis intervention as needed, ensuring a supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in a behavioral health discipline required (social work, counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy).
  • Current independent state clinical licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC).
  • A minimum of three years graduate level experience, providing direct service in a behavioral health setting including assessment and case management.
  • Experience with crisis management and short-term clinical interventions.
  • Experience providing presentations, consultation with team and company leaders and brief interventions is preferred.
  • English language proficiency is required.
  • Spanish language proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled and on-demand one-on-one counseling sessions to support client needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Records system, adhering to best practices.
  • Uphold client confidentiality in accordance with Health Advocate policies.
  • Provide short-term, solution-focused wellbeing and therapeutic interventions as indicated.
  • Provide consultation, recommendations, referrals to EAP services, and other forms of assistance as appropriate.
  • Lead wellness and group therapy sessions.
  • Provide workshops or training as requested.
  • Work closely with Wellness Site Lead and Program Manager to develop and deliver engaging workshops and training sessions.
  • Assist in providing access to wellness resources.
  • Assess crisis situations; provide intervention for crisis, urgent or critical event response where needed and appropriate.
  • Provide consultation to client leadership on concerns about employee safety or workplace behavior.
  • Provide new hire check-in sessions and support offboarding of team members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and others to provide excellent service and experience, and to support professional operations and environment.
  • Participate in regular supervision and consultation as needed/appropriate to any case.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and timely arrival; being ready to work as scheduled.
  • Maintain licenses in good standing, and related credentials where applicable.
