The Department of Entomology in the College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking applicants for part-time job of a Summer Research Assistant working alongside a current PhD student who is working on insect biodiversity and monitoring in Stone Valley Research Forest. The assistant will use two common traps for pollinator monitoring, blue-vane traps and bee bowls, and one newer technique, clear-vane traps, to compare trap efficacy and understand how biodiversity changes in different forest areas across time. Traps were placed in 2023 and 2024 for 1 week in 4 unique months per year, with tens of thousands of insects collected.
