Part-time Substitute Teacher - Up to $195 daily
About The Position
Kokua is seeking part-time substitute teachers in Minneapolis, MN for the 2025-2026 school year. The role involves creating powerful moments for students and empowering them as classroom role models. Kokua, meaning 'to come together to fulfill a need' in Hawaiian, aims to connect talented individuals with K-12 schools to address the teacher shortage. The position offers a flexible schedule (up to 5 days/week), autonomy in choosing assignments and locations, and typical working hours from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Founded by a former teacher, Kokua has been operating for over 13 years, building a diverse network of substitute teachers across the country who are dedicated to making a difference in students' lives.
Requirements
- 6 months experience working with students (tutoring, camps, volunteer and other experience counts!)
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Current residence in or willingness to commute to Minneapolis MN
- Substitute Teaching License or Educators license
- Confidence to manage a classroom of students
- Ability to pass state & federal background check
- Have reliable means of transportation
