About The Position

As the Substitute Librarian, you provide both reference and circulation services to the Front Range Community College (FRCC) community and the patrons from the Westminster Public Library - WPL (located directly below the FRCC Library). When the full-time FRCC librarians are unavailable, you will serve as the person in-charge and may supervise work study students when needed. Substitutes will usually work a 4-hour shift and are sometimes needed on weekends from 1-5pm. However, there will be times that a substitute will be needed for a longer shift or during the week when the full-time FRCC Librarians are not available.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science.
• Ability to earn Master's degree in Library and Information Science within six (6) months of hire.
• Reference and circulation experience in either a public or academic library setting.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of conversational Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Give excellent customer service to both the FRCC and WPL communities.
• Assist with daily library operations with the FRCC Library.
• Handle reference and circulation transactions.
• Manage the library floor and ensure smooth operations in the absence of a full-time FRCC Librarian.

• Variable hour employees will have their hours measured on an annual basis to determine eligibility to enroll in medical health insurance only for the following benefit period.
