About The Position

As a Part-Time Student - User Experience Designer for John Deere located in Ames, Iowa, you will be responsible for developing mock-ups, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate designs to product owners and web development teams. You will create and maintain project and overall system design artifacts, work with the ISU development team along with product teams to ensure that new features are implemented according to specifications, and manage tasks effectively for projects given from product teams and your UX mentor. This opportunity can be used as your design internship to fulfill the requirement at Iowa State University.

Requirements

• Design focus: Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Computer Science.
• Research focus: Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors (Industrial Engineering), Computer Science.
• Must be registered as a full-time student at Iowa State University.
• Must be able to commute to work at the ISU Research Park.
• Graduation date of May 2027 or later in undergrad or graduate school.
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
• Work 8-15 hours/week during the academic year.
• Work up to 40 hours/week during the summer semesters and school breaks.
• Exposure to a minimum of one design tool: Adobe, Figma, Sketch, and InVision.
• Demonstrates ability to deliver clean and usable interfaces while applying visual brand guidelines.
• Eagerness to learn and collaborate.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and intrapersonal skills.
