The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND. As a Part-Time Student in Software Systems for JD Intelligent Solutions Group located in Ames, IA, you will: Develop embedded software in C and MATLAB Simulink in collaboration with the team to deliver an optimized and validated customer facing automation solution. Design, develop, test, and debug software components used for electronically controlled systems while complying with a defined development process and coding standards Participate and guide Agile-based software development teams and collaborate with cross-functional product design teams developing various features Perform embedded systems engineering tasking including requirements analysis, concept development, software architecture and design reviews. Utilize software tools and electronic instruments to troubleshoot and debug embedded systems Provide technical support and maintain the current product and product documentation This position is not available to students on immigration visas

Requirements

  • Develop embedded software in C and MATLAB Simulink in collaboration with the team to deliver an optimized and validated customer facing automation solution.
  • Provide technical support and maintain the current product and product documentation
  • Mechanical, Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering Major. Others may apply
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
  • Graduation date of May 2027 or later.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Available to work 16-20 hours/weekly during the academic year.
  • Available to work 30-40 hours/weekly during the summer semester
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in developing embedded applications using C/C++ or MATLAB Simulink.
