About The Position

The Student Recruitment & Enrollment (SRE) Operations Support position is a part-time, seasonal role with an end date of June 30, 2026 (up to 29 hours per week). This team member plays a critical role in advancing KIPP NYC’s commitment to joyful, academically excellent schools by ensuring strong family partnership and operational excellence. With a primary focus on student recruitment and enrollment, this position supports outreach efforts, guides families through the registration process, and ensures accurate and compliant documentation. The SRE Operations Support team member also serves as a welcoming, student-centered presence in the main office, supporting attendance systems, compliance processes, and daily operational execution that allow our school community to thrive. Working closely with the Director of Operations, School Operations Manager, and the broader operations team, this role ensures that systems run efficiently, families feel informed and supported, and students experience a school environment that is organized, responsive, and grounded in care.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Deep belief in KIPP NYC’s mission to provide an excellent education to all students and partnership with families.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate challenging conversations with empathy and discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable learning and using technology platforms, including ATS and other operational systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with strong follow-through.
  • Availability to work 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (some flexibility), with occasional weekday afternoons, evenings, or weekends as needed.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (2–3 hours) and lift up to 20 pounds when required.

Responsibilities

  • Drive enrollment outreach efforts through proactive, warm, and professional communication with prospective and current families.
  • Conduct enrollment calls and guide families through each step of the registration process with clarity and responsiveness.
  • Coordinate and schedule school tours that reflect the joy, rigor, and community of our school.
  • Collect, review, and organize registration documentation with accuracy and urgency to ensure compliance and data integrity.
  • Respond promptly and thoughtfully to enrollment-related inquiries, helping families navigate next steps with confidence.
  • Support accurate daily attendance tracking and follow-up to promote strong student engagement.
  • Serve as a primary front office contact for students, families, staff, and visitors, modeling professionalism and care.
  • Contribute to consistent operational systems that ensure a predictable, safe, and welcoming environment.
  • Respond to parent emails and phone calls throughout the school day with empathy, discretion, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism while protecting student confidentiality.
  • Foster positive relationships that reinforce trust between the school and families.
  • Support daily attendance processes and required reporting with precision.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date student files in alignment with school and district requirements.
  • Assist with immunization compliance tracking to ensure student health and safety standards are met.
  • Support ATS functions, required data submissions, and MetroCard distribution with strong attention to detail.
  • Support logistics for school and family events, including setup and food coordination, contributing to welcoming and well-executed experiences.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked main office that reflects operational excellence.
  • Manage incoming calls and student documentation efficiently and accurately.
  • Positively engage with students and families, reinforcing a joyful and inclusive school culture.
