About The Position

The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership is seeking a Student Worker to assist with various programming and administrative tasks. The role involves creating advertisements for events, tracking attendance, and managing social media content. The student worker will also support clubs and organizations by assisting with events like Club Rush and Involvement Fair, and will serve as a liaison for the office during SGA General Assembly meetings. Additional responsibilities include recruitment for Alternative Spring Break programming, coordinating community service events, and maintaining the game room and food pantry.

  • Ability to create engaging content using Canva.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create advertisements for specific events on Canva.
  • Create RSVP forms when necessary.
  • Assist with tracking attendance at events.
  • Assist with purchasing materials for events.
  • Help post events on SEAL Instagram.
  • Assist with Club Rush and Involvement Fair.
  • Assist with Club Training.
  • Attend SGA General Assembly and serve as a liaison for the office of SEAL.
  • Assist with tracking community service for clubs.
  • Assist with online club purchases.
  • Assist in tracking club purchases/receipts.
  • Assist in design, build, and maintenance of the Discover East platform.
  • Assist with recruitment for Alternative Spring Break programming.
  • Assist in the development of application materials for Alternative Spring Break.
  • Assist in maintenance and content creation for the Alternative Spring Break website.
  • Research, develop, and advertise fundraising opportunities.
  • Create advertisements for Community Service opportunities.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of community service events.
  • Assist with creation and compilation of follow-up surveys regarding community service.
  • Connect with local organizations to create an online inventory of recommended organizations.
  • Greet students and assist as needed in the game room.
  • Check out gaming consoles to students.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly game room.
  • Refill Student Affairs athletic equipment with air/charge devices.
  • Enforce general rules of the game room.
  • Assist with stocking the food pantry.
  • Ensure that the Pantry is neat and orderly.
  • Monitor the temperature of the Freezer in the Pantry.
  • Ensure that the microwave is clean.
  • Assist with creation/putting up of Bulletin Boards/Display Case.
  • Manage/Maintain Perkins Room 10.
  • Cover SEAL desk on a weekly basis.
  • Monitor website content for accuracy and ease of access.
  • Assist in identification of areas for improvement.
  • Assist in development of content to enhance information and awareness of resources.
