About The Position
Great Lakes Ace Hardware is seeking a Part-Time Stihl Technician to join our growing team in Detroit, MI. This position is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined and have experience in small engine repair and equipment maintenance, particularly with STIHL power equipment. The technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment is repaired, safe, and ready for customer use. The successful candidate will also be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, generating sales, merchandising products, and supporting the store management team. In this role, the technician will be tasked with maintaining a repair schedule and regular maintenance for all STIHL equipment, ordering repair parts as needed, and ensuring proper check-in and check-out of equipment. The technician will also assist customers by answering questions about merchandise, helping them locate items, and using the S.A.L.E.S. process to enhance their shopping experience. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for completing all necessary paperwork accurately, maintaining inventory integrity, and following company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer service orientation, the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, and a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $14.00 to $16.00, depending on experience.
