About the position

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a part-time ISSO SME to support the Air National Guard (ANG) 132nd Combat Training Squadron (CTS), Distributed Training Operations Center (DTOC) in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is ideal for an experienced cybersecurity professional with deep expertise in RMF, eMASS, ACAS, and configuration management. You will leverage your extensive DTOC experience to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) across multiple networks and ensure compliance with security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight for all Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements within DTOC accreditation boundaries.
  • Support Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) events, mission networks, cybersecurity assessments, and site connections.
  • Ensure compliance with STIGs, JSIG, SRG, and other relevant security guidelines.
  • Assess cybersecurity risks to Air Force information systems, ensuring proper mitigation and documentation.
  • Develop and review security authorization packages, including POA&Ms and interconnectivity requirement documents.
  • Perform ISSO duties for non-SAP mission networks; assist as needed with SAP networks when required.
  • Lead and manage Common Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes to maintain cybersecurity integrity.
  • Provide continuous monitoring and systematic revalidation of RMF controls.
  • Assist in the authoring and refinement of cybersecurity documentation such as ISA, SLA, and CIE.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 20+ years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree in a related field and 18+ years of relevant experience.
  • PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field and 15+ years of relevant experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 24+ years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in cybersecurity operations, compliance, risk management, and security assessments.
  • Strong understanding of RMF, STIGs, JSIG, SRGs, ACAS, and eMASS.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration control, vulnerability scanning, and policy writing.
  • Familiarity with security authorization packages, continuous monitoring strategies, and mitigation planning.
  • DoD Directive 8570 Information Assurance Technical II and/or Assurance Manager Level I certification required.
  • Current or Active DoD Secret clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current Top Secret Clearance.
  • Experience supporting Air National Guard cybersecurity operations.
  • Advanced policy writing and security framework implementation.
  • Familiarity with LMS coordination, software development, and training program integration.
  • Experience leading or supporting the Authority to Operate (ATO) process.
  • DISA ACAS Training/Certified.
