The position involves providing individualized support for interns during their internship rotation to help them acquire competitive and marketable skills. This includes systematic instruction to teach and break down tasks, building natural supports, developing accommodations, and identifying appropriate assistive technology. Effective communication with various stakeholders, including instructors, internship department managers, co-workers, family members, and agency personnel, is essential. Responsibilities also include performing task analysis, assisting with vocational fit assessments, job coaching, and providing instructional support in a classroom and lab setting. The role requires practicing positive reinforcement techniques, training students in essential employment-related skills, and providing travel training when necessary. Additionally, the position involves attending training sessions, participating in decision-making processes, adhering to host business standards, and maintaining confidentiality.

  • Provide individualized support for intern during the internship rotation.
  • Communicate effectively with Project SEARCH Instructor and other stakeholders.
  • Perform specific task analysis for students.
  • Assist with completing the Vocational Fit Assessment.
  • Carry out steps of job coaching plan.
  • Work with various parties to problem solve training and employment issues.
  • Provide instructional and employment training support.
  • Practice positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Train students in grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and behavior.
  • Provide travel training for job placement.
  • Attend training provided by school district personnel.
  • Participate in decision-making processes regarding training strategies.
  • Adhere to and promote standards of the host business.
  • Submit and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Recognize and act concerning the safety and welfare of consumers.
  • Demonstrate accountability for work assignments and attendance.
  • Work as a productive team member.
  • Protect the privacy of individuals and confidentiality of information.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
