Part-Time Sitter – Flexible Weekday Schedule
About The Position

Jovie of Phoenix is looking for energetic, reliable, and caring sitters to support families in the Gilbert area. If you enjoy working with children and want a job that fits your life—not the other way around—this is the perfect opportunity. Whether you're a student, a childcare professional, or someone who simply loves helping kids thrive, we’d love to meet you. This role involves working with families located within a 30-mile radius of your home. We match sitters to families based on availability, preferred areas, and family needs to ensure reasonable commutes. This role is for caregivers who have experience providing independent, in-home childcare and are confident caring for children on their own.
Requirements
- 2–3 professional childcare references (non‑family)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain—training options available)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be 18 years or older
- Availability for two consistent weekdays where you can accept assignments anytime between 7AM–7PM (this does not mean 12-hour shifts)
- 1+ year of childcare experience providing independent, in-home care for children (infant through school-age). Daycare or classroom experience is welcome only when combined with sole-care experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent, in-home care for children, including infants and young toddlers, while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment
- Engage children in age‑appropriate, safe, and fun activities, supporting developmental milestones, learning, and play
- Support daily routines such as meals, playtime, and bedtime (Ex. prepare and assist with bottle feeding, meals, and snacks, following family instructions and dietary needs)
- Provide transportation when needed (reliable vehicle required)
- Maintain a safe environment and handle minor first‑aid needs
- Follow family preferences to ensure a great experience for both kids and parents
- Support infant and toddler routines, including diapering, potty training (when applicable), naps, and soothing techniques
