About The Position

The Justice and Safety Institute at Penn State is seeking qualified law enforcement instructors for the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff's Basic Training Academy. This role involves face-to-face, hands-on instruction in various training modules, with no possibility of remote work. Instructors will be part-time adjuncts, scheduling training assignments as needed, and will contribute to the training of law enforcement personnel in critical areas such as firearms, defensive tactics, and emergency vehicle operations.

Requirements

• Must be certified through PCCD and the Sheriff & Deputy Sheriff Training and Education Board.
• Possess certification certificates for specialized subjects taught.
• Valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face, hands-on instruction for law enforcement training modules.
• Schedule training assignments as needed for the Sheriff's Academy.
• Teach specialized subjects including Firearms, Defensive Tactics, and Emergency Vehicle Operations.
• Ensure compliance with certification requirements from PCCD and the Sheriff & Deputy Sheriff Training and Education Board.
