The City of Anaheim Community Services Department is seeking a customer service-oriented individual to fill a part-time Senior Program Specialist position, averaging approximately 30 hours per week, though no minimum number of hours is guaranteed. This role requires availability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays. The Senior Program Specialist will perform a variety of duties including meeting with potential facility user groups, conducting facility tours, interpreting and communicating facility use policies and procedures, and gaining user support and compliance. The individual will provide customer service to guests and user groups, schedule and supervise facility users, train and supervise part-time staff, and oversee facility safety and maintenance repairs and improvements. Additionally, the role involves maintaining records and facility user files, preparing reports and written communication, and supervising ongoing programs. The ideal candidate is customer service-oriented, energetic, and has experience in the human services field working with youth, families, and/or senior citizens. This position is characterized as a journey-level classification in the Recreation Services series, where incumbents are responsible for program planning, staff supervision, and administration for a particular recreational services program or functional area. The Senior Program Specialist will also provide general information to the public, connect them to City and Family Resource Center programs and services, and recognize when to link clients to case management services. Under minimal supervision, staff will plan and supervise educational and/or recreational programs and may plan and lead youth development activities. The role also includes support to front desk operations, facility supervision, and training and supervision of staff.
