About The Position

This position is for a part time Protective Security Officer (PSO)- armed guards working at various federal installations in and around Portland area. Synopsis FPS Protective Security Officers (PSOs) are primarily responsible to perform security and monitoring work such as securing federal buildings and property, protecting personnel, equipment and material, and controlling access to work locations by employees and visitors throughout the state of Maine. The PSO will respond to emergencies, conduct inspections and perimeter checks, and access control.

Requirements

2 years of previous security experience, OR military experience, OR law enforcement to apply for this position.
Clean background check (no felonies or domestic violence/assault charges). All applicants will under a federal background.
U.S. Citizen / hold a social security card
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Minimum of 21 years of age
Shall fluently speak, read, comprehend, and compose coherent written reports in English
Pass a Medical Evaluation
Drug Screen
The company will assist in processing for federal background clearances
Be prepared for 5-7 days of weapons training, defensive tactics training, OC & Baton training.
Must have First Aid/AED/CPR certification.
