The position involves monitoring access of residents and guests to the large residences on campus. The individual will enforce the Guest Policy as well as other University policies, verify Guest Passes for accuracy, and confiscate misused, damaged, or altered forms of identification. In case of emergencies such as fire, crime, or medical problems, the individual is responsible for notifying the proper authorities. Communication of incidents and concerns will be done using phone or radio equipment to other departmental representatives. The role also includes writing complete, concise, and accurate Incident and Fire Alarm Reports, remaining alert to surroundings at all times, and acting as a front-line representative of the University by providing information, direction, and assistance to residents, guests, and staff. Additionally, the individual will monitor video displays for improper activities and report any equipment-related malfunctions to the Shift Supervisor. Regular consultation and review of the Operations Manual is expected. The position requires varied shifts weekly, including nights and weekends.
