About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Special Education Teacher to make a real impact in a supportive school environment in Norwalk, CT. Join our team of Special Education Teachers to help students with diverse learning needs thrive for the '25-'26 school year! Position Overview: Middle School Reading Intervention (8:15 AM - 10:15 AM) : Deliver intensive, specially designed instruction focused on reading intervention methods for a small caseload of two middle school students. High School Math Focus (10:40 AM - 12:40 PM) : Provide individualized instruction specializing in high school mathematics content and related academic IEP goals for one student. Develop and implement function-based academic and behavioral strategies, utilizing IEP Direct and assessment data to continuously adjust and monitor all student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Ensure comprehensive IEP management by conducting formal/informal assessments, interpreting diagnostic results, and facilitating crucial collaboration with parents and multidisciplinary staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification (#165) (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Active Orton-Gillingham (OG) Certification or Reading Specialist Endorsement (Preferred for Middle School position)
  • Experience in teaching High School Mathematics within a special education or resource setting (Preferred for High School position)
