About the position

Kingsbury Country Day School is seeking a Part-Time School Psychologist for the 2025 - 2026 school year. The school is dedicated to providing students with the time and space needed to authentically develop their social, emotional, and academic skills. Located in Oxford, Michigan, on over 100 acres of beautiful woodland property, Kingsbury aims to help every child reach their maximum potential through a challenging curriculum and expert instruction in a safe and supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will be part of a community that involves students, parents, teachers, and friends in decision-making and daily life.

Responsibilities

  • Assess students for potential psychological concerns and make eligibility recommendations following the MARSE Rules and ISD/RESA guidelines.
  • Develop special education plans based on data.
  • Network with teachers and families to create Section 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Counsel students and parents while pointing them toward further resources when needed.
  • Collaborate with the special education team to design and implement intervention strategies and programs.
  • Administer therapy to children with developmental, learning, or behavioral delays.
  • Analyze and treat school children using psychoanalytic and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student health and academic records.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree.
  • Valid Michigan school psychology license.
  • Demonstrated competence in all areas of focus, including child and school psychology.
  • Case reporting and writing skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with students, parents, and staff, individually and in groups.
  • Excellent verbal and written expression using proper grammar and vocabulary.
  • Exemplary work habits verified by previous employers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of and ability to follow and implement the IEP process.
  • Knowledge of and skills working with At-Risk students.
