About The Position
The role of the RISE (Realizing & Inspiring Student Excellence) Professional Success Coach (PSC) is to promote persistence from semester to semester for a successful academic experience at North Shore Community College and support students who are struggling to maintain good academic standing. The PSC will mentor and connect assigned RISE students to various services offered by the College and will serve as a point of contact at the College, they will help students develop an Academic Success Plan by identifying obstacles to academic performance, and assist them by jointly generating solutions for overcoming those challenges. They will collaborate with other student support services by referring students to the appropriate NSCC service to aid these students' college progress. Professional coaches assist and support students with realizing their full potential by providing effective skills such as navigating NSCC services, test taking, time management and strategies for studying.
